From Intern to L&D Executive: How Passion and Perseverance Drove Pranjal Rana’s Career at Swiggy

September 16, 2025

Pranjal Rana started her journey with Swiggy as an intern in the Learning & Development team – curious, eager, and ready to learn. Today, as a Learning & Development Executive, she’s leading projects with that same passion, only now she’s moving faster, owning the process, and making a larger impact.

If you have the passion for something and the heart to make it happen, everything else will follow. Pranjal has a strong mindset and thrives in environments of constant evolution. Monotony is not her cup of tea (or coffee), and she’s always looking for ways to ideate and innovate internal processes.

P.S. If one day she ever gets to be Swiggy’s CEO, she’d love to see all interns pitch their boldest, craziest ideas. Because at Swiggy, even the wildest thought has the power to turn into something real.

She drives meaningful learning and development (L&D) initiatives at Swiggy, first as an intern and now as a full-time team member. Swiggy and Instamart had been on her radar for quite some time, since their marketing style is very different, it’s experimental and refreshing, catering to my generation. So she felt truly connected with the brand. When she got the internship offer from Swiggy, she just knew that she was in for a ride, and is going to love every bit of it.

Pranjal shares, “As an intern in the L&D department, I started work by shadowing my seniors, working on ideas that were already in progress. Once I transitioned to a full-time role, I pitched and implemented ideas and plans for various L&D initiatives and projects, recognizing the gaps where we could do better, and making things happen end-to-end.”

One project that she worked on and is close to her heart is the Manager CUE of the Week initiative. For the programme, she created ‘CUE-kie’ – a mascot that is friendly & quirky. It is a buddy for managers and brings bite-sized, actionable tips that they can directly apply with their teams. That project gave her a chance to collaborate cross-functionally and get real-time feedback on her efforts.

When she looks back, the shift from intern to full-time didn’t really feel like a big jump, because even as an intern, her work made a difference. What did change was the speed; she was moving fast, taking full ownership, and learning to stay open to change, feedback, and constant experimentation.

One of the flagship programmes that she has worked on is the Managerial Excellence Programme, designed for managers in grades 6 to 9. “In just a year, we’ve certified 500+ managers. Watching this programme grow and knowing I’ve worked on it through its different phases has been incredibly rewarding.” says Pranjal.

If you’re considering Swiggy, here’s what she would say: “You’ll find your voice here, and your seat at the table. If you thrive on constructive feedback and hate monotony, this is the place for you.”
