Lazar Selvarasu, joined Swiggy as a Tech Talent Acquisition Manager, he wasn’t just hiring, he was building. Over time, he brought in the right people who now help shape and power our culture from within. Beyond the office, he chases speed on the track, proving that passion fuels performance everywhere.

Lazar joined Swiggy as a Technology Hiring Recruiting Manager. Over time, the role expanded into leading TA for multiple new business charters. Most of the ramp-ups were delivered with a lean team, so strategy, innovation, and adopting new hiring trends became the core of how we scaled. From introducing Agile TA sprints to building customised tech hiring playbooks and experimenting with new sourcing techniques, we supported launches across Storefront, Instamart, Meat, Genie, Snacks, Events, Pyng, and Crews. The shift was clear, the scope just kept expanding, from managing hiring to architecting how Swiggy builds its future teams.
The best moments of his tenure were: launching entirely new business teams from scratch and watching them turn into high-performing orgs. There’s a special kind of thrill in seeing a zero-to-one journey you hired for come alive.

Lazar shares, “Over the years, I’ve worked on introducing agile talent acquisition sprints that significantly reduce time-to-hire, built customised tech hiring playbooks, and experimented with new sourcing techniques. Now, I am General Manager – Talent Acquisition, building teams and watching them grow in the system. Cracking the scale puzzle. I love bringing innovation into TA, new tools, new sourcing tactics, new frameworks, and building strategies that help a lean team hire faster, better, and smarter.”
He also shared about his interview experience, “The interview felt fast, sharp, and very real. Swiggy came across as a place that moves quickly and expects you to move with it. That turned out to be exactly right”

Through it all, Lazar has been constantly innovating, strategizing, and scaling processes, by hiring the right talent in various Swiggy verticals like Instamart, Scenes, Crew and more. Helping zero-to-one projects take shape because of my inputs is a proud accomplishment.
Lazar mentioned, “Bike racing isn’t just a hobby for me. It’s the one place where everything goes quiet, the world narrows to a strip of tarmac, and it’s just me, the machine, and the clock. It’s where I reset, push myself, and stay sharp.”

It’s the culture and autonomy here that allows him to show up as his true self, both at work and beyond. The same freedom has empowered him to pursue his passion for bike racing. He has been able to put in his best at work and still have the bandwidth to hit the track, train, and keep his racing journey alive.
“In short: Swiggy lets me bring my best to work in the last 18 years of career and chase what moves me outside it. And for someone who lives for the track, that balance is everything.” says Lazar.
