Surat’s Healthy Eatzzz is Improving How the City Eats Tastefully, along with Swiggy.

June 27, 2025

With conviction, data-backed decisions, and a partnership with Swiggy, Surat’s Healthy Eatzzz is ensuring that eating healthy should not be difficult, costly or optional.

In a city that swears by buttery pav bhaji, cheesy sandwiches, and deep-fried snacks, what does it take to convince people to eat clean? A lot of patience, a fair bit of risk, and a deep understanding of what ‘healthy’ truly means.

Meet Harsh Patel, founder of Healthy Eatzzz, Surat’s homegrown healthy food brand that’s changing how the city eats. Launched in December 2018, Healthy Eatzz is the story of how small goals, late-night calls, and a relentless pursuit of a vision backed by a trusted partnership with Swiggy turned eating healthy from a trend into a way of life.

But how did it all start? Let’s rewind.

The Groundwork for Growth

Before Healthy Eatzzz, Harsh was juggling work between a pub in Goa and a restaurant in Surat. After two years, both ventures came to a close, but the experience laid the groundwork for what followed. “We underwent huge losses, but the passion for food never went away,” he says. Armed with a degree in food engineering and a vision for a healthier India, he spotted a gap in Surat’s foodscape — an accessible option for healthy food that wasn’t priced out of reach.

Harsh Patel, founder of Healthy Eatzzz.

“We kept our prices affordable because true lifestyle change shouldn’t be premium. And in Surat, affordability is half the battle,” he explains. In a market where even a simple salad could cost ₹300, Harsh knew he had to start small. “I began from my mom’s kitchen,” he shares, “Using utensils from her home and with the help of one staff member. The goal was to hit 25 orders a day and outgrow the home kitchen. If we touched 100 orders, we’d consider a small dine-in space. 150? That felt like a distant dream, but one worth chasing.”

A Place for Everyone

“Healthy Eatzzz isn’t just about quinoa bowls or baked potatoes (though we have those too). It’s about long-term lifestyle shifts,” says Harsh “From day one, our menu caters to all age groups, with one uncompromising rule: it must be affordable.”

Loyal customers showed up, even during a tough transition into a dine-in model. “People walked in and said, ‘We’ve been fans for years!’ That was the proudest moment for me. Cloud kitchens don’t usually allow you to see your customers. This changed everything.”

How Swiggy Took the Wheel

The turning point came when Swiggy entered Surat in 2019, and Healthy Eatzzz was among the early adopters.

“Managing deliveries on our own was tough, especially in the early days,” Harsh says, “Swiggy made that part seamless, which allowed us to focus on the food and the experience. We couldn’t have scaled from a home kitchen to a restaurant without them.”

Praveen Jhunjhunwala, Swiggy’s Key Account Manager II for Healthy Eatzzz, agrees. “When I came on board in 2020, they were generating around 2 – 2.5 lakh in monthly revenue. Now, they’re clocking over ₹11 lakh. But this is more than just revenue — this is about the adoption of a lifestyle. Through this journey, we’ve built trust, not just with the customers but with each other as well.”

That trust led to sustainable growth. “Healthy Eatzzz had a gap in their Indian offerings,” Praveen recalls. “We recommended biryanis and healthier North Indian options. They took the plunge, and the results followed soon after.”

But they’re not stopping here.

Insights, Not Just Orders

From revamping their menu when needed to tracking low-selling items and positioning them as

discounted add-ons, their approach is equal parts passion and precision. A 27 per cent menu-to-order (M20) ratio puts them ahead of most in the city.

Even their operating hours evolved through Swiggy’s insight. “Initially, we didn’t deliver past 9 PM because we believed healthy food shouldn’t be eaten late,” Harsh smiles. “But Praveen made a good point — why leave night owls with only junk options? So now, we’re open until 2 AM. Same philosophy, wider reach.” For Healthy Eatzzz, growth has been about building habits, winning loyalty and evolving with intention.

They also constantly benchmark against markets like Mumbai to bring future-ready ideas back to Surat.

The Next Chapter is Already Simmering

While Healthy Eatzzz will remain Surat’s go-to for clean, comforting meals, Harsh and his team are cooking up something new. “We’re developing a second brand — Grub. It’s more experimental and caters to Gen-Z. That’s the one we’ll take to other cities.”

Still, the mission remains the same: to keep healthy food accessible, authentic, and loved. As Praveen puts it, “This isn’t just a restaurant anymore. It’s a category leader. And with Harsh’s energy and clarity, I see it setting benchmarks across the health food space in India.”

In a city that still loves its cheese-loaded toasties, Healthy Eatzzz found its space and claimed it. If that’s not the perfect recipe for growth, what is?
