Ordering food on your train journey? No more fuss; now get Assured Cutlery when ordering with Swiggy!

February 4, 2025

You are halfway through your train journey, comfortably binging the new season of a much-anticipated web series. Hunger strikes, but you don’t have any food on you. You fire up the Swiggy app, enter your PNR, choose the station where you want your food, and place an order for a plate of veg hakka noodles.

Less than an hour later, you reach the station and within a couple of minutes, have the noodles handed over to you, at your seat. You are all set to devour your meal. And oops, there is no cutlery!

While this is unfortunate, we must admit this is not uncommon. In fact, our internal surveys reveal that 1 in every 3 customer complaints, for food orders delivered to the train, is about missing cutlery or the lack of proper cutlery. While we make every effort to signal to our restaurant partners if an order is from a train (and hence nudge them to send cutlery), there are misses.

To address this customer pain point, Swiggy has launched Assured Cutlery for your train orders. Expect a spoon, fork and tissue inside a cutlery pouch, along with your food order. (And yes, all of the cutlery is made of eco-friendly materials).

This initiative is being rolled out across 50+ major railway stations in India, from Bengaluru to Baroda, from Pune to Prayagraj, and more. No more balancing acts, no more messy fingers.

So, next time you are traveling on a train and those hunger pangs hit, remember Swiggy.  We are serving at 70+ stations, and in addition to cutlery, be assured of :

–    a wide selection with meals starting at Rs. 79,

–    guaranteed delivery to the seat (or full refund), and

–    a hassle booking experience where you can book up to 24 hours in advance, right up to 30 minutes before the station arrival time

Happy travels!
